Our school invited Mr. Lee Hong Yang, Minister of the Interior, to deliver a speech on The adjustment policy responding to climate change on April 27th. Minister Lee emphasized that land planning and development is the focus to the flood problem. Facing the unpredictable weather, the most effective solution is land planning and development. Land planning and development should include the concepts of its value, our law system, and constructional system. The most important of all, we should think differently about our entire social value. If we don't change our thinking and we couldn't reach the goal of land conservation and sustainable development.

Meanwhile, Lee specifically mentioned the successful experience of Netherland. The past concept of the cradle to the grave is to manufacture, produce, recycle, discard, and pollute. The new concept is C2C. It's like throwing away a worn out carpet in the garden as the nutrition to the ground. Soap water can be the nutrition to the river. Five-year-old car can be discarded without feeling any sadness because all parts can be recycled. Using the natural circulation concept creates sustainable resources and economic growth. Together, we create the cradle of ecological environment and industry.

Minister Lee mentioned that the climate change is not a simple problem. A sustainable policy not only requires the best scientific research, fluent communication but also needs trusty statistics, explicit policy, creative ideas and civil participation. In the end, Minister Lee told us to have positive thinking, out-of-box thinking and well communication to face the problems Minister Lee shared his experience with real cases. His speech has certainly brought our attention to the influence of climate change.
